Omi ("the App") provides AI-powered sales assistant and personalized styling recommendation services through conversational chat interfaces ("the Service") to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- Products – to display and recommend items from your catalog
- Product listings – to provide accurate product information and availability
- Store content – to understand your brand and tailor the shopping experience
- Customer data – to personalize recommendations and track conversions
- Order information – to measure sales performance and conversion metrics
Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:
- Session identifiers passed via URL parameters to maintain conversation context within the Shopify app proxy environment
- Log files track actions occurring within the App and collect data including browser type, interaction timestamps, and conversation events
- Analytics tools record information about how customers interact with the chat interface and shopping recommendations
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:
- Provide personalized product recommendations and styling suggestions
- Maintain conversation context across shopping sessions
- Generate analytics and insights about customer preferences and product demand
- Measure conversion rates and App performance
- Communicate with you about the Service
- Optimize and improve the App
Sharing Your Personal Information

- Amazon Web Services (AWS) – for cloud infrastructure, data storage, and AI processing (including AWS Bedrock)
- Pinecone – for vector database services that power product recommendations

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Data Retention
We retain chat conversation data and customer interaction information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and generate analytics insights for merchants. Merchants may request deletion of their store data at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you, or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to the United States.
Changes
